This wasn't part of the original tour, but we had a few "extra" minutes, so we visited the old abandoned cistern under the city. |
| Built by the Emperor Justinian, the same emperor who built the beautiful Hagia Sofia, these deep wells under the city had been built upon and forgotten for many centuries. |

These fish are raised in the cistern and then caught by the local restaurant owners to serve their guests! |
